We learn to love from the moment that we are born, from the moment that we open our eyes for the first time and we see the face of the one who gave us the gift of life... we learn what love is as our thoughts, feelings, and our emotions blossom and develop to a point where we know what we want and who makes us feel what we have always wanted to feel. We learn what it is like to feel as if our heart has been physically ripped out of our chest when our heart is broken, when we feel like we will never recover after someone who we cared deeply for decided, for whatever reason, to go their own way and say goodbye. We learn what it is like to feel renewed, to feel reinvigorated, and to have been given a reinfusion of hope when we find someone and, from the moment that we see them, we fall in love and we believe that we know them just as much as they know us - and that from that first look, that first touch, what you share will be forever - but the truth is if you truly want to know someone sometimes it can take a while. We learn when to say some things and when it is not necessary to say anything at all when we spend more and more time with someone and we develop an almost psychic bond that goes beyond the sound of our voice... we learn that sometimes we are compelled to do things because of how we feel that can manifest in actions beyond even our own understanding... we learn that when we say "I love you" to someone sometimes it is because we do not have a choice... we learn that sometimes in life we all have to sacrifice something to someone - because, by doing so, our actions show that when it comes to being in love we will do whatever it takes to be loved and to keep on loving.

My Poem “Burst”
Just like a solar storm on the surface of the sun, just like the fiery curls that the sun releases and sends out into space, just like the auroras created when the energy of the sun touches the atmosphere of our planet - everyone and everything capable of complex thoughts, feelings, and emotions often feels as if they have something within them that they struggle to contain, that they struggle to hold back, that they struggle not to express - because we are all filled with a spirit that burns like a flame, that boils like hot water, that sometimes explodes like a jet from a geyser; because everyone and everything needs at outlet to get out what has found its way within: whether that is artistically, physically, audibly, or a combination of many things all at once - because if someone or something has no means of controlled release then they might remark that they will figuratively, or perhaps literally, BURST!

My Poem “In store”
I used to love watching sunrises and sunsets - but now, whenever I see one, all I can think about is how many more I will get to enjoy, and how much time I have left; time was always something that I thought I had a lot of, time with people was something that I foolishly took for granted - then I was physically and emotionally struck by a loss so overwhelming that my entire attitude towards life and what was important was impacted. Some things hit you hard but you learn to recover from them... some things knock you off your stride but you can relearn how to walk again... some things you can stop doing but you can resume at a later date; however, there are some things - like seeing the face of someone who you love who you have lost - that you know you might have to hold on to for a long time, because if you want to see someone again you might have to wait, and, most importantly, you might have to hold on to something even more valuable and precious: your faith. Over the course of a life everybody finds someone and something to believe in... from beginning to end everybody's life is a story that has so much detail to it that even if you tried you wouldn't be able to recall, nor capture, every last thing... when you wake up every morning it can take a while to remember who you are, where, and what happened - even the events of the night before... when everybody goes to bed at night - but before they dream the night away - there is a time that feels like you are watching a tide rise that you are unable to stop looking at and can not walk away from because what is coming towards you is a force of the universe that reminds us of where we came from, where we've been, where we are going, and somewhere that only those who perceive time non-linearly know for sure what is ultimately in store.
