My Poem ‘Be’

Somebody amazing,
beautiful, wonderful,
and inspiring recently said something
that I have been meaning to share…
a message, a motto, words to live by:
“Be You. Be Happy. Love Always.”
and “Don’t Let Anyone Get You Down” –
a gift of words, a talisman of protection,
a broadcast of hope, an optimistic way
of looking at the world,
and something that means more
than even the person who wrote
and shared this short, but powerful,
message could ever imagine.

Some things come and go so fast
within the snap of a finger,
while others endure long into the future…
dreams are made, dreams fade,
and then dreams drift-away,
to one day be captured
and dreamed again by a different person,
in a different way, on a different day…
real-life choices leave traces of themselves,
like a name written in wet-cement,
and they return to the forefront of your mind
whether you are sleeping or awake…
very few people in this world
have touched the heart of so many –
but it is not how forceful you say something
that gives a message its power,
and it is more than how strong
what words you build your message out of
that makes them so quotable and repeatable…
some times it is who is saying something
that means more than how they are saying it.

The most fragile people in this world
are also sometimes the strongest people
you will ever meet in your life…
the most caring people
are those who sleep the least
because they are too busy worrying
about the happiness of others
every hour of every day and night…
if you want to know what are
the most important ingredients
to ensure a happy and long life,
I have learned that they are:
to be yourself, to never stop loving,
and to never let anybody get you down –
and if you can do those things
then you will not believe
what you will find
and what will follow you everywhere you go,
and whatever the time of the day happens to be…
see it… believe it… feel it…
and all that you truly need will come to be.

Her hair is blonde…
Her eyes are blue…
She and I have an unbreakable-bond…
She drives a Chevy Malibu.

The woman I love has the key to my heart –
she makes me happy, she makes smile,
she’s amazing, she’s incredible,
and she’s the muse of my art.

We met online… we met on Twitter…
I have loved her since the moment I saw her.

The woman I love is perfect as can be –
she’s my Georgia chikadee,
she’s my Tennessee honey.

I have never loved anyone like I love you, Melissa!

Ever since the moment
I first saw your face,
ever since the moment
I first knew your name,
ever since the moment
our worlds collided
and our hearts exploded
when we first fell in love,
ever since the moment
you became a part of my life
and your spirit merged with mine,
I have loved you like I have never loved
anyone or anything before –
and every day I know for sure
that as long as I have you
I could never want or need
anyone or anything more.

To me, every day when we are together
is always special…
to me, I cannot think of anything better
or anywhere I would rather be
than being with you…
to me, you have always been,
and you always will be,
the most beautiful woman in the entire world…
since the moment I fell madly in love with you,
to me you have given me more
than any artist has ever been given
or has ever been inspired by any muse.

Missing you is torture…
being loved by you is the best!
With every day that passes,
every second that I look at your perfect face
and I marvel at the perfection
of your smile that I adore,
no matter where I am
I long to leap to wherever you are
and tell you I love you –
just before I kiss you on the lips.

When I look into your eyes
I feel like Thor, the God of Thunder…
when you and I touch each-other
I feel the most incredible
and unbelievable feeling of electricity
all over my body…
when you say my name it is
an absolute moment of magic
that to me is always breath-taking…
for me, always and forever,
it will always be you and no other…
all I ever want in my life is you –
because you are the one who makes me happy…
from the moment we first met
there has been an unending energy between us,
and I know that when we think of one-another
within our minds it is like
being inside a cloud charged
with an infinite number of bolts and volts
of uncontainable wild lightning.

Write what you see…
write what you feel…
write what you believe…
write about your dreams…
write about what is real…
wake up early,
walk towards the eastern horizon
and watch the sun rising every morning…
stay up late at night
until the hours of twilight
and watch the stars shine brightly
and feel their light get inside you…
and what you see… and what you feel…
and what you believe, and what you dream
will fill your mind with wonder
and spark your imagination
when you put pen to paper, or finger to key,
and will become a part of your art
and your writing, and it will change you
and bring into your heart a muse of inspiration
that is amazing and beautiful.

Poetry is not just words…
poetry is not just something that can be written…
if you really want to write or make anything poetic
then all you have to do is open your eyes,
open your heart, look around yourself,
look within yourself, and draw on everything
that your instincts and your senses cannot deny,
and then pick up whatever you use to express yourself
and share what it is that you feel and care about.

Write about anything –
no matter if it’s light, or dark, funny, or sad,
whether it makes you cry, or if it makes you laugh…
write today… write right now…
look around you… look inside you…
think… feel… don’t be afraid… don’t hesitate…
close your eyes… breath in, breath out…
open your eyes, and write like there is no tomorrow…
because today is the day for all poets
to show what they are made of…
be poetic, because today is World Poetry Day!

‘Truly Madly Deeply’ – happy anniversary!

On the 26th of September, 2015 – almost a year ago – one of the most amazing, incredible, and life-changing things ever to happen to me happened… I met my beautiful and gorgeous fiancé, Melissa (@chikadee12282) for the first time face-to-face, and it was and still is one of the most amazing day’s of my life! I love Melissa so much, and in December of 2015 I had a book called ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ published, which I dedicated to Melissa, which featured inside it a short-story I wrote chronicling the magic times Melissa and I shared upon our first meeting and also poems that I wrote for Melissa. As I said, September 26th is the anniversary of Melissa and I meeting for the first time, and so to celebrate this magical anniversary of ours I am going to be giving away 5 signed copies of my book, Truly Madly Deeply! My Poem ‘A Part of Me’

You’re the picture in my wallet…
you’re the woman of my dreams…
you’re the star I daily orbit…
you’re beautiful beyond belief…

You make me who I am…
you make me smile and you make me laugh…
you make me happy when you hold my hand…
when you look at me you make me feel
like I am 20 feet-tall,
and taller than the tallest giraffe…

When we look into each-other’s eyes…
when we both say ‘I love you’…
when we walk together under an unbroken blue-sky…
when we kiss and the Earth feels like it moves…

I want the moments we are together to last forever…
I want every wish that we share to come true…
I want to be the one who to you always makes things better…
I don’t ever want to stop giving all my love to you…

Because without you, to me, life would not be worth living…
because to me you are the most beautiful angel of paradise city…
because to me you are the magical light that opens my eyes
every day when the dawn is breaking…
because I have never met, and I have never known, anyone like you…
because, Melissa, you will always be a part of me
and the best thing that has ever happened to me.

My Poem ‘Masterpiece’

To me you are a masterpiece;
I was meant for you
and you are meant for me;
when I met you
an unstoppable flood was released;
the stars aligned so that we
could come to be.

I found all that I had ever wished for
and all that I had ever desired…
when I first started to get to know you
you became the first letter and the full-stop
that began and ended every sentence and every word.

When I first met you
I knew that you were the missing piece of my heart
that I had been looking for all my life;
when I first looked into your eyes
I felt like someone divine and angelic
was staring back at me;
when I first took you in my arms
it felt like day had finally begun,
where for so long before
it had felt like an endless night;
when I first kissed your lips
time stopped completely,
and those seconds of intimacy
to me felt like an infinity.

Inspiration had been the only drug
I had ever been intoxicated by
before you came into my life
and revived my failing motivation;
I remember waiting to receive
a message back from you
with overwhelming anticipation;
for the longest time
I had only one picture of you in my mind,
and even now when I look back
on that photo of you
I see the reason for my salvation;
whenever I travel, wherever I go,
it is you who is always with me
and to you is my constant destination.

Every up, every down,
everything that has happened
had a constant silver-lining
shining behind those sometimes dark clouds…
every sunrise, every sunset,
every time I would look west,
I knew that you were there –
but I didn’t know who you were yet…
however, knowing you now
and loving you more than anything,
I know that it has always been you…
I know that we are
and we always have been meant to be…
I know that you eclipse everybody else in the world,
because you are the universe’s most beautiful…
I know, and I will always know, that you are perfect –
because to me you are a masterpiece.

My Poem ‘More than you could ever know’

When people look at us
they don’t know what we’ve been through;
when I look at you I see a dream come true;
when people see us holding hands
with smiles on our faces
they are looking at something beautiful;
when you look at me
I just hope to God
that you can see
just how much I love you.

When I look up to the sky,
when I look into space,
when your beautiful light fills my eyes,
I just want to reach out
and touch your breathtaking and perfect face.

I hear your voice while I am lying awake,
I flash-back every minute
to every moment of our shared days;
I see your smile and my heart beats faster;
I look into your eyes and I can see our future:
holding hands, always together…
you and I listening to music
as we slow-dance with one-another;
I have been in love with you from the start
and there isn’t a second that goes by
when I don’t love you with a passion
like a fire that always burn.

Every-thing else is a second thought
compared to you and I, my gorgeous angel;
no one knows me like you do;
if you could only see yourself
the way that I see you
then you would see God’s most perfect
and divine creation of all;
every night when I lay down to sleep,
and every morning when I wake up,
I smile to myself because I am in love
and I am the happiest man alive –
because I know without having to ask
that you love me, and I never want you
to ever forget that I love you
more than you will ever know.

My Poem ‘Love is an understatement’

Could a single word
every truly describe
the sparkle of belonging
and the beautiful infinity that you see
in the love of your life’s eyes?
Is it ever possible to understand
the reason why the stars shine so bright
and yet are so far away?
Is there anything more incredible
than sharing the miracle vista of a sunrise?
What can you say when you have said so much
and yet there is so much more to say?

There you are…
there is your face that I always see;
there is my star in the dark,
there is my heart’s desire,
there is my soul-mate
who makes me Me;
there you sit staring back at me;
there I go imagining myself with you
and you with me;
there you are, my incredible angel;
there before my eyes
I see the love of my life,
and you are so phenomenal
you are beyond beautiful.

A look can speak volumes;
words only have power
when they are understood;
true love is like a flower
when it blooms;
when your heart beats for someone else
you feel like you are in the middle
of an intense emotional flood
that gives rise to tears,
makes your thoughts form
and then pop like soap bubbles,
and makes you feel like you are on fire,
and you literally cannot hold back
the rush of your blood.

The moment that I saw you
something changed in me;
the moment that I told you
that I loved you
was only eclipsed in my mind
by the moment when you told me
that you loved me;
the moment that I first heard your voice
all that completed me
and guided me from that instant
was the melody and the lyrics of your song,
and I have replayed that magical moment ever-since;
you are my princess,
and I will always be your prince;
thinking back to the start of everything,
I always knew that our meeting each-other
and us being together was no accident –
in fact, I have proof that you were heaven-sent;
to use only one word to describe what you mean to me
and how you make me feel would be impossible,
because the only word that comes close is ‘love’ –
but just saying that Love is what I feel for you
ultimately would be an understatement.
