This episode is a part of Mark’s “A Journey Through Poetry” – a personal reflection of his life as a poet, a writer, and a author – in which he recites a different poem from every one of his poetry collections. In this episode Mark recites his poem ‘The Rain Over Queen Victoria’, from his poetry collection The Dreamer and The Dream, and he gives some insight and some context into why he was inspired to write this poem in particular.

The Dreamer and The Dream – republished

My fourth book, and my fourth poetry collection, ‘The Dreamer and The Dream’, is once again available to buy from Amazon in its new hardcover edition.
Originally published in 2015, my book ‘The Dreamer and The Dream’, contains some of my favourite poems that I have written – poems that tell you so much about what matters to me on a personal level, what drives me every day, why I am a poet, and also allowing me to express my feelings for those who mean the most to me, and who inspire me every second of every day.
‘The Dreamer and The Dream’, and its poems within, is the book, and the poetry of mine, that I have shared with more people than all others, because there is so much to discover about me within, as well as so much that I wanted to say. It’s also the book that, when I wrote and I published the poems within, made me realise who I was and who I always wanted to be: a poetry, a writer, not to mention a storyteller.

Signed copies
If anyone reading this lives in the UK, near Birmingham City centre especially, if you are a fan of my work, and you would like a signed copy of either my book ‘The Dreamer and The Dream’ or ‘Playing God’ – then don’t hesitate to brave the rain and head to either Waterstones (where you will find a copy of ‘The Dreamer and The Dream’ near the Outdoor Pursuits section on the Ground Floor) or to the Library of Birmingham (where you may find a copy of my book ‘Playing God’ in the Metal & Metal Working Section, by a book about clocks). I’m not sure how long they will be where I left them – but perhaps, if you are lucky, you may be able to pick up a signed copy today on World Book Day! Happy finding! Happy reading! 😎 📖
*UPDATED*
And I Just made my own contribution to the Phone Box Library in Millisons Wood, near to where I live, by adding a signed copy of my books ‘Playing God’, ‘The Dreamer and The Dream’, and ‘The Eternal Boy’ for anybody who wishes to have a copy:
