My Poem “Angels of Salvation”
Today is a day for fireworks! Today is a time for celebration! Now is a time when people around the world gather together, make plans, feel thankful, and once again hold hands - and it is at this time of the year, when the days are short and when daylight is precious, when people brave the cold and follow the lights that they see, as they venture out into the dark to find and discover seasonal treats that always bring people some much needed joy to their life and make both adults and children laugh. Today, now, any day, any time, is always the right day and the right time to reach out and tell someone what they mean to you and give them the gift of explaining to them what they have that no one else has... today, every day, someone you know might need you more than you know - and all that they need is someone, anyone, to tell them that if they need someone to speak to about how they feel about anything, they have you - and to some people that is like the feeling of elation and salvation that the survivor of a sunken ship feels after they once again finally find dry land. Today, like every day, for most people can be like undertaking an uphill struggle and not knowing what they will find when they finally reach the top - which is why friends, coworkers, family members, forgotten acquaintances, even blink and you miss them strangers who might you see on the street are important, because they have the power to give everyone who needs it the fuel, the spark, the energy, the boost to light up someone's sky and remind everybody who needs to be reminded that all is never always lost and there are heroes out there in the world who will do what they can, when they can, for whomever they can, no matter the cost, and who will gladly sacrifice what they have to throw an arm of comfort around those who feel as if they have no one to turn to and no where else to go - and those people are true Angels of Salvation.
My Poem ‘Masterpiece’
To me you are a masterpiece;
I was meant for you
and you are meant for me;
when I met you
an unstoppable flood was released;
the stars aligned so that we
could come to be.
I found all that I had ever wished for
and all that I had ever desired…
when I first started to get to know you
you became the first letter and the full-stop
that began and ended every sentence and every word.
When I first met you
I knew that you were the missing piece of my heart
that I had been looking for all my life;
when I first looked into your eyes
I felt like someone divine and angelic
was staring back at me;
when I first took you in my arms
it felt like day had finally begun,
where for so long before
it had felt like an endless night;
when I first kissed your lips
time stopped completely,
and those seconds of intimacy
to me felt like an infinity.
Inspiration had been the only drug
I had ever been intoxicated by
before you came into my life
and revived my failing motivation;
I remember waiting to receive
a message back from you
with overwhelming anticipation;
for the longest time
I had only one picture of you in my mind,
and even now when I look back
on that photo of you
I see the reason for my salvation;
whenever I travel, wherever I go,
it is you who is always with me
and to you is my constant destination.
Every up, every down,
everything that has happened
had a constant silver-lining
shining behind those sometimes dark clouds…
every sunrise, every sunset,
every time I would look west,
I knew that you were there –
but I didn’t know who you were yet…
however, knowing you now
and loving you more than anything,
I know that it has always been you…
I know that we are
and we always have been meant to be…
I know that you eclipse everybody else in the world,
because you are the universe’s most beautiful…
I know, and I will always know, that you are perfect –
because to me you are a masterpiece.
My Poem ‘El Transformador’
You haven’t lived,
in my opinion,
until you have seen and heard
the movie ‘Transformers’
dubbed in Spanish;
you haven’t lived
until you have traveled
4000 miles to be with
the one whom every day
makes real all that
you have ever wished;
you haven’t seen
true natural-beauty
until you have seen
the Great Smoky Mountains up-close
and you have breathed in
the clear fresh-air
that is in abundance;
you haven’t seen an angel,
in my opinion,
until you have laid your eyes upon
the woman who I adore and love –
because on a scale of perfection
there is no one who looks
and shines with as much
breathtaking and heavenly magnificence.
You haven’t lived
until you have walked the tracks of a rail-road,
under a perfectly-unbroken blue-sky,
that runs alongside the Nickajack Lake in Tennessee;
you haven’t known true-love, in my opinion,
until you have been loved in every way imaginable,
as much as I love Melissa,
as much as Melissa loves me;
you haven’t heard the heart-beat of life
until you have reached out and felt
the source of divine joy and happiness
that resides in the south of North America;
you haven’t heard the voice of your own soul
until you have been kissed and told
“I love you” by the light of your life
who is to you your life-defining shining-star.
You haven’t been given
a sign of the existence of God, in my opinion,
until you have taken a journey with your best-friend
and you have watched the book of life open up
and make sense of every-thing
that you have ever pondered,
and you find out that your best-friend
and your soulmate was put on Earth
to be with you forever;
you haven’t arrived at the true start
of your destined-path
until someone comes into your life
and without even having to try
reveals the true you
that you may at times keep under-cover.
You haven’t known a place of true-salvation,
in my opinion, until you have been
where I have been, and until you have heard
the song of your heart and spirit being performed;
you haven’t felt like
you have been to the moon and back
until you are alone with your one-and-only,
and every second feels like a life-time,
and every moment that you touch and are touched
you feel blessed and transformed.
