The sun has been a source of light, heat,
inspiration, fear, and adoration for many people
and civilisations over the centuries…
the sun has been, and continues to be,
a source of hope, as well as a source of dread,
for people young and old alike -
depending on when they are exposed
to its extreme power and influence…
the sun has been leaving its mark upon the world
since our planet coalesced into the rock of possibilities
that we now live on and are inextricably bound to…
the sun has been giving us gifts of life,
as well as teaching us all lessons
not to take anything for granted,
nor to be too dependent upon anything
too much for too long.
The sun has been shining like a beacon
for visitors of its solar system since its creation…
the sun has been spinning through
the arms of the stars of the galaxy since the dawn of the universe
and it has its own life cycle and periods of time
when it is more active than others…
the sun has been sending out its energy and its gravity
far and wide in sometimes noticeable
and unseen ways and waves like that of a dark ocean…
the sun has been deciding the fate of the life upon
the planets and the moons that encircle it
and those forms of life that still remain -
both “advanced” and vocal,
as well as those still hidden and silent -
and it will continue to do so for time yet,
until it comes to the end of its life
and it sends out an almighty shockwave
that will violently change the face
of everything and everyone forever after.
The sun is an important source of reinvigoration,
relaxation, and reproduction for plants and animals
and it is essential for how life on our planet
knows when, how, and why to do things…
the sun has been rising at dawn and setting at dusk
repeatedly from the perspective of many individuals
and every time it is seen from the ground,
or while orbiting in space,
everything and everyone always has this sense
and this feeling of awe and connection -
as if the sun is constantly speaking
to something within us all that beats in time with it…
the sun has been seen in many ways
and it’s has many layers to it that speak to its depth
its complexity, its context, and its place
at the centre of the wider world of our existence…
nothing and no one is anything without the sun,
and for as long as life has existed the sun
has been giving blessings and lessons
to those who bask in its eternal light -
especially those who spend as much time as they can
in worship of the celestial “sun god”.

My Poem ‘The Preacher up on the Mountain’
The father, the son, the messenger,
the preacher of the word of God…
the man of faith, the man of belief,
the man of love, the man of heart,
the man of song…
when they speak, when they sing,
all who hear their voice
feel their words deep within their soul
and their presence feels like
the lord-himself is speaking
to you through him…
when you are in their church,
when you are one of their congregation,
you can feel the strength of their spirit,
and you feel instantly drawn to them…
the preacher brings the words of the bible to life…
the holy man knows the true meaning of keeping faith
that God loves his children
and that he believes in them more
than they could ever know…
the man who built his own church
and who created a holy place for his family
and for all to worship in
will always be special in the eyes of God,
of Jesus Christ, and in the eyes of those
who they have shepherded throughout their life…

My Poem ‘The Ten Thousand’
Every birth is a miracle…
every child is an angel…
every baby is beautiful…
every newborn is wonderful,
and it is every parents responsibility
to provide and to give without question
the love and the support that their children
need more than anything else in the entire world.
Every child is born to the parents
whom they are born to for a reason…
some parents don’t even plan to be parents –
however, I am sure that not even
Mary and Joseph knew how to be the best parents
to the young Jesus,
but they did the best that they could,
and it is not every day
that you are chosen to be
the adoptive parents of God’s son
through immaculate conception.
In my opinion, every parent of every child
is the beginning, but not the end…
in my opinion, the best parents
care so much for their children
and their well-being,
and they show their love for their children naturally –
while others try too-hard
and in the end they have to pretend.
We know from the Bible
where Jesus was born and to whom…
we know where Jesus died
and where he rose to heaven…
we know that Jesus died
for each and every one of us,
but no-one could ever know
what exactly Jesus thought about
why he was on Earth when he was a child –
however, when he saw the signs
of what was about to come
and what he had to do,
I am sure that he knew…
we know that Jesus was divine,
but he too was mortal
and could not have left this life
in any other way than like a human.
Some couples pray for the gift of a child…
some people become parents naturally
and biologically, and some are chosen
to be the guardians and the protectors
of a child by the hand of destiny and fate…
some couples’ journey to parenthood
can be long and hard,
but unbelievably worth-while…
some people become a parent early
and some become parents late…
some couples only choose their child’s name
after they have been born,
while some have had the same names picked out
for months before they even knew the sex of their baby…
some parents watch their children grow
and become amazing individuals
of whom they could not be more proud…
some couples know what it means
to have been born into a one-of-a-kind family…
some parents unfortunately out-live their children
and even have to watch as their child
breathes their last breath –
and it is to them that Angels come
to help them through the heart-break that they feel,
because to the ears of the divine
the sound of even a single falling tear of a parent
is as loud as that of ten thousand.
