These are crazy times... these are the days that we hoped would never come... these are the times when people are acting on their survival instincts... these are the days that we will hopefully one day look back upon and marvel at humanity's collective ability and each of our own individual capacity to do all that we feel like we need to do when faced with a crisis that we cannot control but which we can play our part in finding a way through the thick fog of what we do not understand.
Each of us recognise that the time we are living through now most of the time feels like a struggle...
each of us know that feeling of distress,
of disappointment, of depression that rears its ugly head and rises to the surface of our minds when we are hindered from doing what we want to do, going where we want to go, being with who we want to be with - there are people staring out their windows within the safety of their home,
there are doctors, nurses, patient care techs who are working long shifts in hospitals who wish that they did not have to be so far away from their loved ones, but who are all choosing to do what they feel they need to do to beat the threat that feels like it has engulfed the world which is praying on people young and old from every walk of life.
As Winston Churchill once said:
"This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning"- and it is this quote that has been carrying me through these times, and I am sure that these words I will continue to repeat to myself as the chaotic times of our present predicament continue to change and ask of us to be strong, to be safe, to be mindful, and to be the best version of ourselves and to not choose to give in to fear and to the dark side of human nature that some people dwell upon and act upon because they cannot help themselves...
the human race will survive what we are all going through...
the human race has had to deal with and live through atrocities of our own making because of human action or inaction before and we will one day get the chance to reflect upon these times, these days, this real-life nightmare and find a way to live with our own sacrifice.
Just got back from socially isolating myself while within the embrace of Mother Nature and making the most of both the beautiful weather and the opportunity to make the most of the freedom that some of us still have to go out and enjoy the beauty of nature, the natural world, and the spectacular environment that surrounds us and connects us all to one another. No one knows what the future holds, but we all have to do our part to do our best, to be there for those who matter the most, and to help one another to get through all that we all have to get though and the life that we have to adapt to. Keep calm and carry on, everyone! Stay safe! Stay sanitized! Stay strong! Stay connected! We are all in this together! 😊 #me #staystrong #keepcalmandcarryon #nature #theworld #humanity #freedom
Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! I wish these were better times for celebration - however, I believe it is during these testing times when we learn to appreciate what and who means the most to us. I hope everybody has the best day that they possibly can and I hope everybody gets to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in some way, shape, or form. I hope things get better for everybody as soon as they can. And I pray to God and to St. Patrick to deliver us all a miracle and to help us find a way to eradicate this cursed virus that has enveloped the world. As always, I live in hope! Happy St. Patrick's Day, my friends! 🍀🧶💚 #happysaintpatricksday #saintpatricksday #me #green #hope
Happy World Book Day, everybody! Books and stories have always been an amazing, powerful, and an inspiring source of imagination, of adventure, of intrigue and of discovery in so many ways for me - especially in some of the stories that we all find ourselves reading and being naturally drawn into the world that we are reading about, and each of us have experienced that we natural inclination to start caring about some of the characters that we read about and where the story that they are a part of will take them. I am a poet, I am a writer, I am an author, and for the last 8 years I have been publishing my own books of poetry and stories with the help of my phenomenal publisher #ZelooMedia and I cannot thank the amazing @mike.blackburn.794 for giving me the opportunity and the means to be able to share my words, my dreams, and the creations of my imagination, and I am also eternally grateful to @real_jenblackburn for recognising all those years ago that my words might actually be worth sharing and getting published and also for introducing me to the great @mike.blackburn.794 &enabling and supporting me on my journey as a writer and a storyteller. The poem above is called “The World Book” and I wrote it especially for #WorldBookDay which is today, and I hope you like it! Thus far I have written 9 books that have been lucky enough to get published & printed & which have been read by countless people - and whenever I find out that someone has found a copy of one of my books or they have have bought one, to me it is like seeing a dream become a reality. Being a writer and being able to share my gift is truly a dream come true and I never want my dream nor my journey as a writer to ever come to an end - but, no matter what happens, when I look back, when I read back, when I look at my own works - my books, my stories, my poems - I find myself filled with a great deal of satisfaction, happiness, joy, and gratitude to have been given the opportunity to allow my artistic, creative & my poetic soul to be seen, read, heard, and felt. Happy World Book Day! 😊🌍📚📖⚡️🌹#worldbookday #2020 #me #markthepoet #poetofthesphere #zeloomedia #poetry #poems #stories #books #theworld
